FLEXIBLE WOODEN GUITAR PICK

THALIA CAPOS LLC

The Thalia Exotic Wood Picks were designed to improve string tone and eliminate the pick noise produced when strumming with plastic picks. Handmade wooden guitar picks have been around for centuries, which provided the desired tones, but were unable to provide the flex and playability benefits of plastic picks. Our pick technology meets both requirements by slicing micro-thin layers of exotic wood and then bonding them back together with the woodgrain in a crosshatch pattern. The result is a very thin, flexible and durable wood pick with a warm tone that sounds better with each use.

LAYERING PROCESSES

Picks are designed in two different thicknesses, 0.9mm picks which are made up of 2 layers and 1.4mm picks made up of 3 layers of exotic wood.

The process behind our patent process is actually quite simple. First, we slice multiple, micro-thin layers of wood.  Next, we crosshatch the grain layers by 90 degrees and glue them back together. The result is an all wood pick that is thin, flexible and durable with amazing tone.

PROCESS LEVERAGE

Picks were designed to be produced through laser cutting. The beauty behind utilizing this process was the ability for easy shape exploration and refinement. Four different shapes were released: Standard, Jazz, Tri-Pick & Jazz 3XL(not shown)

EXOTIC WOOD TYPES

Four different wood species: Santos Rosewood, Purpleheart, Bubinga and Tigerwood
